Kayak Canoe Chernobyl Tour

A unique route of active tourism on kayaks and canoes in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

Creating the first in the history of the world route of active water tourism in the territory that once suffered from the largest radiation disaster, was completed. All route options were checked by experts, dosimetric measurements were carried out, and approved for use by the mass tourist.

Equipment for the kayak tour should contain long sleeve clothes, long pants and closed shoes that can be drenched. In accordance with the Rules of visiting the Exclusion Zone strictly 18+. Special training for the passage of both routes is not required. The minimum number for a kayak tour is 10 participants.

1-Day Kayak Tour

Program of 1-day kayak canoe Tour Itinerary

  • Departure from Kiev at 8:00
  • Arrival in Chernobyl
  • Transfer to kayaks and a two-hour walk along the Pripyat river
  • Exit out of kayaks
  • Transfer to a bus and an excursion to the Chornobyl nuclear power plant
  • Lunch at the station canteen
  • Tour of the city of Pripyat
  • Return on the same day around 20:00

2-Day Kayak Tour


Program of 2-day kayak canoe Tour Itinerary

  • Departure from Kiev at 8:00
  • Cherevach, transfer to kayaks.
  • 18-kilometer river route runs downstream along the Uzh River in the area of the Chernobyl Biosphere Reserve with access to the Pripyat River and tie-down in the city of Chornobyl
  • The passage takes about 5 hours. After that, the group arrives in Chernobyl for dinner and accommodation at the hotel for the night
  • Evening tour of the city of Chornobyl


  • Breakfast
  • A visit to the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, Chernobyl-2, the city of Pripyat and the abandoned villages of the Chernobyl zone
  • Return to Kiev around 20.00
