I had an unforgettable experience on the Dunajec River Rafting Tour, thanks to our fantastic guide, Marek (Mark). His excellent English and friendly personality made the two‑hour drive fly by as we chatted about travel, health, life, and everything in between. It genuinely felt like travelling with a friend rather than a guide. Before the rafting, Marek gave us two lunch options, and we chose to visit a local restaurant afterwards. Since rain was forecast for the afternoon, we asked if it was possible to start the rafting earlier — Marek immediately made a few calls and arranged it for us. His flexibility and professionalism were truly appreciated. The rafting itself was handled by another guide who spoke Polish, but we were provided with English materials. One of the guides kindly whispered explanations as we passed various landmarks along the river. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking — peaceful, majestic, and inspiring. I’m already thinking about returning to do the cycling route along the Slovakian side of the river next time. A light rain came and went, but it didn’t spoil the experience at all. After the rafting, we headed straight to Restauracja Łowisko Pstrąga Bobcikowa Chata, where we enjoyed delicious fresh fish and the best potato‑and‑cheese pierogi I’ve ever had. While we were eating, the heavy rain finally arrived — and we were so glad Marek had arranged the earlier rafting session. He then drove us back to our hotel safely and comfortably.
