A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's most important Holocaust memorial

The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum preserves the site where over 1.1 million people lost their lives during World War II. Established as a memorial in 1947 and inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is the largest former Nazi concentration and extermination camp. The museum consists of two parts: Auschwitz I with exhibitions inside the original brick barracks, and the vast grounds of Birkenau. A new exhibition, "Auschwitz — Experiences of Camp Prisoners", is now open in Blocks 8 and 9.

On dropping us off at the airport our driver handed us small bags with a few biscuits ‘to help pass the time waiting on our flight’ Such a lovely thought and a great end to our few days in Krakow. Would DEFINITELY recommend Mr Shuttle and would have no hesitation on using them again on any future visits.

Such an eye opening and thoughtful trip. The full day was long (7am-6pm) but so worth it. The guide was a lovely man who helped when needed. The lunch provided was exceptional. I would highly recommend

First class guides who were passionate and emotive. Lunch was lovely. Everything went without a hitch and the video film shown on route to the concentration camps was a true eye opener. Although a very long and exhausting day it was well worth the money.

This trip makes for a long day, but after touring the horrors of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the beauty and wonder of the salt mine was perfect. The purifying nature of salt was also much appreciated.

I use this company every time I visit Poland and they are brilliant every time! I had my airport transfers and a trip to Auschwitz booked with them. I would definitely recommend it. The Auschwitz tour is very well organized prompt pick up and a really friendly driver.

Excellent company! We booked a transfer with the company as we were originally due to arrive at night. However, our flight was cancelled and we had to re-arrange both the dates and the hotel we were staying at. The driver who picked us up was very polite and waiting for us when we came out of the arrivals door, the vehicle was spotlessly clean as well. Recommend this company both for transfers and tours!

The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site preserving the largest former Nazi concentration and extermination camp, where over 1.1 million people lost their lives. Established as a memorial in 1947, it consists of two parts: Auschwitz I (the original camp with exhibitions in the brick barracks, including the new "Auschwitz — Experiences of Camp Prisoners" exhibition in Blocks 8 and 9) and Auschwitz II-Birkenau (the vast extermination camp 3.5 km away, with the recently opened camp bathhouse). A free shuttle runs between the two sites.

Yes. Since March 2026, all entry cards to the museum are available exclusively online at visit.auschwitz.org. During peak season (April–October), entry to Auschwitz I requires a timed slot with a licensed educator. Slots sell out fast, especially in summer. When you book a tour with us, official museum tickets are included and secured in advance — you do not need to navigate the reservation system yourself.

The museum is open year-round, seven days a week: December 7:30–14:00, January and November 7:30–15:00, February 7:30–16:00, March and October 7:30–17:00, April, May and September 7:30–18:00, June to August 7:30–19:00. Visitors may stay 90 minutes after the last entry time. The museum is closed on 1 January, 25 December and Easter Sunday. Our tours are timed to match the best available entry slots.

A standard guided visit to both Auschwitz I and Birkenau takes around 3.5 hours inside the museum grounds. Including transport from Krakow (about 60 km each way), the full trip is roughly 7 hours. Package tours that also include Wieliczka Salt Mine take a full day.

All our Auschwitz Museum tours include: air-conditioned transport from Krakow, official timed entry tickets to both Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, a licensed museum educator, and the free shuttle between the two sites. Selected tours also add hotel pickup, a lunch stop, or a combined visit to Wieliczka Salt Mine. Check each tour card above for exact inclusions.

Both options include a licensed educator and official entry tickets. Skip-the-line tours are designed to streamline the entry process where possible, reducing waiting time at security and gates. The museum content and route are the same in both formats.

Some museum tours include door-to-door hotel pickup in Krakow, while others depart from a central meeting point. Each tour card on this page shows the pickup details so you can compare before booking.

Wear comfortable shoes — you will walk several kilometres across both sites. Dress respectfully and in layers, as parts of the visit are outdoors. Large bags, backpacks and food are not allowed inside the museum. Small bags and water bottles are permitted. Bring a valid ID or passport — the museum may require it for security screening.

The museum recommends that visitors be at least 14 years old due to the nature of the exhibitions. Children under 14 may enter but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Check the tour details before booking if travelling with younger children.

Museum entry slots are limited and sell out quickly, especially between June and August. If your preferred date is unavailable, try a different departure time or compare another tour format on this page. Flexible travellers often find availability by checking multiple options.

Cancellation and change policies depend on the specific tour. Check the booking conditions shown during checkout for the exact terms that apply to your selected option.

Be ready 5–10 minutes before the stated pickup time. Museum entry slots are strictly timed, so punctuality helps ensure a smooth start to your visit.
