FAQ

Here you can find answers for frequently asked questions.

You simply cannot miss the Neptune’s Fountain! We recommend taking the Royal Route, walking through the Long Lane and visiting the Long Market. These aren’t the only regal things about the city, though! Have you heard that Gdańsk is considered to be World’s Capital of Amber? See it for yourself at the Amber Museum! Take a look at the Motlawa River Embankment while you are at it. Museum of the Second World War and Westerplatte are highly recommended. Do not skip!

If you have money to burn, taxis are fast and on-demand. However, they will quickly deplete your pocket money, and many taxis still don’t like being paid with a credit or debit card. Still fast, and way smarter and economical is using public transport. Use Jakdojade to plan your routes and minimize your confusion. You can get to anywhere from anywhere using public transport, though it won’t always be super fast or convenient. If you enjoy physical activity and enjoy biking, there are many bike rental services available in Gdańsk. We personally love cycling, so this is our second most recommended option, tied with a water tram! While the water tram might not be the most convenient or fast, it is something you have to experience AT LEAST once when in the city. It is just so unique, fun, and relaxing! If you have figured out your plans for a day ahead, and know that you might need to travel long distances, consider arranging a ride with MrShuttle. This is especially convenient and useful when starting or ending your trip. If you want us to pick you up at your hotel and drop you somewhere in the city, or the other way around, just give us a call!

Surprisingly, none yet! Gdańsk is actively trying to change that, though. Since 1997, the City has been petitioning UNESCO to include its heritage sites in the World Heritage list. However, there IS a UNESCO World Heritage Site that you can visit when in Gdańsk. The biggest of surviving European castles, Marlbork Castle is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1997.
