A city tour guided exclusively in one language: English
Our Budapest Ideal City Tour is a great bet if you prefer small groups and are not interested in a multilingual tour. When booking this tour, you have the guarantee that the guide will be speaking just in the language you booked, without going back and forth between other languages. At the moment, the Ideal City tour is available only in English.
See the famous Central Market Hall, stop at Heroes' Square and stroll around City Park
Once you've fastened your seatbelt, it's time to start our Budapest Ideal City tour. We will begin from the Chain Bridge, but also pass by Elisabeth Bridge and the Downtown Parish Church (also known as Budapest Inner-City Mother Church of Our Lady of the Assumption). After taking the small boulevard, our guide will show you some of Budapest's attractions like the Central Market Hall, the National Museum and Europe's largest synagogue.
Then we will take you down the Andrássy Avenue (sometimes referred to as Budapest's Champs-Élysées). The guide will point out all the important buildings there, such as St. Stephen's Basilica (home to Hungary's first king's right hand) and the Opera House. We will drive all the way to the Heroes' Square where you will see the statues of most famous Hungarian kings. Here, our experienced guide will share with you a bit about some 1000 years of Hungarian history. After that, we will explore City Park on foot. If you're expecting just an average park, you'll be surprised. Budapest's City Park is home to some important sights, such as Europe's largest thermal spa, Budapest Zoo and Vajdahunyad Castle.
A guided walking tour around the Castle District
After seeing the highlights in the city centre, we will drive to the Buda side to have a look at other main attractions. Castle Hill is the historic part of the city and home to the Castle District (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). As you can assume, this is where the Buda Castle is located, as well as some other important landmarks of Budapest. We'll take a walk to the charming and eclectic Matthias Church. You'll also have the chance to step into a fairytale at Fishermen's Bastion and take some Instagram-worthy photos. Fishermen's Bastion is also the place to enjoy a beautiful panorama with a view of the Parliament Building.
Spectacular view of Budapest from Gellért Hill
As a cherry on top, following the walk around the Castle District, we will drive you to Gellért Hill, one of the highest points in the Hungarian capital. This is also where the massive Citadella fortress is situated. Although you already enjoyed a great panoramic view from the Castle District, Gellért Hill takes the experience to an even higher level. Its location allows for seeing both sides of the Danube, which means you'll get an unbeatable view of Budapest. The tour ends in the city centre so once you've taken plenty of photos and selfies, we will drive back over the Elisabeth Bridge to Pest.
