Malta

Malta is a small, charming country located in the Mediterranean Sea, consisting mainly of three islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino. It is a place with a rich history, fascinating culture and beautiful landscapes.

One of the most characteristic elements of Malta are its monuments. Worth mentioning is the Hypogeum of Ħal-Saflieni, an underground funerary complex dating back to around 4000 BC, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Malta is also home to one of the oldest free-standing structures in the world – the Hagar Qim temple, dating back to 3600-3200 BC.

The capital of Malta, Valletta, is a true architectural treasure. It was built by the Knights of Malta and is considered one of the best-preserved Renaissance towns in Europe. Narrow cobbled streets, impressive fortifications and beautiful squares make Valletta a unique place.

Malta is also a paradise for lovers of water attractions. The crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean attract both diving and sailing enthusiasts. The islands offer countless dive sites, including shipwrecks and coral reefs, teeming with a variety of marine life.

Local Maltese cuisine is a real feast for the palate. It is characterized by a combination of Mediterranean, Arab and Italian influences. Pastizzi, small pastries stuffed with cheese or peas, are a local favorite. Fish and seafood are also widely eaten, and dishes such as “fenkata” – bunny stew – are often served during traditional festivals.

Malta is also a country with a lively cultural calendar. Many religious holidays such as Easter and St. John, is celebrated with spectacular processions and celebrations. The Maltese are also lovers of music and dance, and the numerous music festivals and artistic performances reflect their passion for the arts.

You can’t forget about the beautiful beaches of Malta. Golden Bay, Mellieha Bay or the Blue Lagoon on the island of Comino attract tourists with their blue waters and picturesque surroundings.
