Join our special Eat Hungary tour in Budapest
If you're a foodie and would like to do something different from all the regular tourists, then this Hungary gourmet walking tour is a great option. You'll get to taste a variety of Hungarian foods at places that locals tend to frequent. At the same time, a professional tour guide will accompany you and share with you some useful and interesting information about Hungarian history and culture. The guided tour will focus on the Jewish Quarter and downtown Pest with a stop on the Belvárosi Piac which is a downtown market hall on Hold utca (different from the popular Central Market Hall). During this Eat Hungary gourmet tour, apart from traditional restaurants, you'll visit a local butcher shop, a cheese shop, and finally a neighborhood pub where you can taste locally-made artisanal beers.
What will you taste during our "Eat Hungary" gourmet tour?
Only delicious stuff! This Eat Hungary gourmet tour includes 8 tastings of authentic Hungarian food. On the menu, there will be a range of Hungarian cheese specialties, as well as a selection of Hungarian salamis. You'll also get to sample some typical dishes, such as ‘Lángos’ (fried Hungarian flatbread) and ‘Kolbász & Hurka’ (sausages and pickled vegetables). Of course, a gourmet walking tour would not be complete without a dessert. So, if you have a sweet tooth, you'll be happy to bite into ‘Túró Rudi’ (a small chilled chocolate-covered dessert). After that, you'll try ‘Kürtőskalács’, which is a sweet dough pastry covered in sugar (also called sweet dough chimney cake). But that's not all, you'll also get to taste a Hungarian Jewish cake with different fillings and layers, called 'Flódni'. In addition, the tour will give you the chance to sip on a glass of the popular 'Pálinka' which is basically Hungarian fruit brandy.
