Wieliczka is multi faceted: theres the historical aspect - salt was valuable for a long time, so the salt mine was an impressive source of wealth. There is substantial beauty down there - large chapels and lakes with artistic lighting.
The tour itself is insightful at the Wieliczka salt mines, we were very impressed age range 46-16. There is a lot of steps and walking here.
The salt mine in Wieliczka is, in my opinion, one of the best organized and developing tourist attractions. In addition to the wonderful tourist route, the mining route deserves a recommendation, where you walk in a suit and helmet. Kopalnia w Wieliczce to jak dla mnie jedno z najlepiej zorganizowanych i rozwijających się miejsc turystycznych. Oprócz wspaniałej trasy turystycznej na polecenie zasługuje trasa górnicza na której chodzi się w kombinezonie i w kasku.

A beautiful and very interesting mine that you can visit thousands of times over. The mine makes an enormous impression, and children love the legends. Piękna i bardzo ciekawa kopalnia do której można wracać tysiące razy. Kopalnia robi ogromne wrażenie, a dzieci uwielbiają legendy.
There is also a Miners route which is a bit longer and more in-depth for salt mine enthusiasts! The tourist route tour is approximately 2 hours. Definitely worth seeing if you are visiting Krakow!

This place is amazing! The guide we had was excellent, information provided with humour! We only saw 1 percent of the mine, so it must be enormous! An excellent must see place if you visit Krakow.
We also booked Airport transfers with Mr Shuttle. We highly recommend this company. The drivers were polite, well dressed and took care of our suitcases. They were earlier than advertised for the pick up times at our hotel. Sadly we had pre-booked our Austwitz tour with another company that also specified a hotel pick-up. This was not the case and we had to walk 20 plus minutes to a rendezvous point! We recommend sticking with Mr Shuttle.
Well worth the visit. Pleasant bus ride, all the staff had great English. Our tour was slightly rushed as there was a tour behind us that kept interrupting but a part from that it was great.
You will spend around 2 hours in the Salt Mine. The UNESCO-listed Wieliczka Salt Mine, with its salt caverns and carvings, lies just south of Krakow and is absolutely worth visiting.
The place is cool; I would advise you to visit the salt mine and would return there myself next time Im in Krakow. The cafe inside is nice. Also, the air inside is good for your lungs. I had terrible cough lasting for one month after Covid. And after 3 hours in the mines it vanished completely.
I did both in the same day on a full day tour. The salt mine tour was great. I'm so glad I did it. Both were amazing experiences in their own way.
Wieliczka Salt mine is an amazing experience to go 135 mtrs deep, but the Chapel @ 120 mtrs is extremely beautiful & definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful salt mine. The highlight of the tour is the beautiful chapel that was carved out of the rock and while that is amazing I don't think it compensates for the amount of walking that is involved in this tour.
Beautiful, vast mines. When you get into the salt mines, a fully working mine. Salt sculptures great as are the carvings. The Big Chapel is magnificent as are the chandeliers.
Great trip and really enjoyed the salt mines, Norbert our guide was fantastic. Really informative and ready to answer any of our queries. I would definitely recommend this trip.
