Passengers landing in the area of the European Union are protected by the EU Air Passenger Rights Regulation. The law was enforced to take care of all passengers who experienced a disruption during the flight. The most common problems are delays, cancellations, overbookings, and denied boardings.

What is the exact form of compensation in each case?

  • Delays: if your flight is delayed for 2, 3, or 4 hours you are entitled to „right to care” which means providing you food and drinks, and also a possibility to make a phone call or to send an email.
  • Delays: if your flight arrives atits destination 3 hours or more late, you are entitled to money compensation in the range of 250-600 EUR. The sum depends on the distance.
  • Overbookings: if your boarding is denied, you are entitled to „right to care”, ticket refund or rescheduling the flight, hotel accommodation if needed, and also money compensation.
  • Cancellations: if your flight is canceled, and you were informed about this within less than 14 days, you are entitled to get a money refund or reschedule the flight. If you decide to reschedule, the airline is obliged to fund your accommodation and/or transportation.
