PARIS – EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE
A visit to France should be started in Paris. It is a city of love, with beautiful architecture, art, delicious food, and noticeable contrasts. Indeed, tourists can be sure about the wide range of entertainment and opportunities the capital offers. Paris boasts a wide range of attractions so that even the fussiest person will easily find something for themselves. This place undoubtedly presents its character, and a month would not be enough to explore all its tourist attractions.
At the same time, the unquestionable symbol and the biggest highlight of Paris are, of course, the Eiffel Tower. This is one of the highest structures in the world. It is located on the Seine, next to the Champs de Mars. The tower was built especially for the Paris World Exhibition in 1889. Another place frequently viewed by tourists is the Louvre, containing around 350,000 different exhibits. The most famous masterpiece in the museum is Leonardo da Vinci’s, Mona Lisa.
When visiting Paris, you will notice the distinctive architecture and undoubtedly fall in love with it. It is apparent almost at every step, but the real landmarks are the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe and the Basilica Sacre-Coeur. For the youngest (but not only!), there is the beautiful and world-class theme park Disneyland.
NICE – MODERN MEDITERRANEAN RESORT
Nice is the capital of the Côte d’Azur and an enchanting Mediterranean resort. The city is an ideal choice for both shorter and longer holidays, as it is well connected to the most important highlights in the region. It is considered the 5th largest city in France and the informal capital of France’s beloved coastline.
The main sights of Nice are located in the city centre and are within walking distance. They can be discovered in 3 – 4 hours. However, it is worth taking a full day to explore the city and reach the attractions that lie a little further away from the centre, i.e. Place Massena, Promenade Paillon and Place Garibaldi. Of course, the Old Town of Nice is not only a beautiful spot on the tourist map but also a great chance to try the local cuisine. Absolutely do not miss the Provençal market Cours Saleya, which is open all week and offers different attractions depending on the day. Castle Hill offers fantastic views due to its well-placed vantage points.
