A Guide to Madeira — Everything You Need to Know
Madeira, discovered in July 1419 by João Gonçalves Zarco and Tristão Vaz Teixeira, is a breathtaking Portuguese island in the Atlantic Ocean, part of an archipelago that also includes Porto Santo, Desertas, and Selvagens. Known as the Island of Eternal Spring, Madeira offers a mild climate all year round, lush greenery, and spectacular volcanic landscapes. Formed from one of the world’s highest volcanic massifs, the island is a natural paradise filled with dramatic cliffs, forested mountains, and ocean views at every turn.
It’s a haven for travellers seeking unspoiled nature and authentic local charm. Its rugged mountain ranges, deep gorges, and soaring cliffs — including the world-famous Cabo Girão — were sculpted by erosion over millions of years. Meanwhile, the island’s ancient Laurisilva forest has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserving Madeira’s rare biodiversity.
Blending captivating history, stunning views, delicious Madeiran cuisine, and cosy villages, this island is an idyllic getaway. Safe, scenic, and full of adventure — Madeira is the perfect choice for carefree holidays surrounded by nature.

What people are saying about us:
Bustling airport, very modern and spacious. Everywhere looks clean and well kept.
Excellent value for money, the drivers were very polite and always on or before the time needed.
I highly recommend this company. The car for 6 people was waiting for us even before the scheduled time. The drivers were super nice and the car ( minibus) clean and comfortable. Good price too and you can pay in cash or credit card if you order via website.
Easy to book, drivers arrived on time, well priced, glad we used them, made the transfers hassle free.
Excellent company - both for transfers and tours! We booked a transfer with the company as we were originally due to arrive at night. However, our flight was canceled and we had to re-arrange both the dates and the hotel we were staying at. The driver who picked us up was very polite and waiting for us when we came out of the arrivals door, the vehicle was spotlessly clean as well. We also had a transfer back to the airport and the same could be said of that journey. Also, the office staff was incredibly helpful when our flight plans were changed and new vouchers with updated details were issued within the hour! I would recommend this company both for transfers and tours!
