Time travel to socialist ideal city, with our door-to-door service.

Nowa Huta is a place where you can see the paradoxes of communism. Explore the "ideal" city, monumental and grand, built in a country that has only just begun to recover from the ruins and devastation of World War II. However, for the Communist Party, the costs of its construction were utterly irrelevant. Tangible evidence of communist power was the only thing that mattered at the time.

Nowa Huta is a special place where you can combine several different and complementary cultural routes in a small space. Nowa Huta (both city and steel plant) was a flagship building of the early years of the Polish People's Republic. The political decision to raise a metallurgical plant in the fertile areas of Pleszów and Mogiły near Krakow was made in 1949. As an ideal city, which was to be a showcase of Poland in the world, obtained a clear urban plan and architecture in the socialist realist style - primarily based on Renaissance architecture patterns and the American urban concept so-called neighbourhood unit.

Nowa Huta: The Story of the Ideal Socialist-Realist City

Nowa Huta was one of the two cities in the world designed and built from scratch in the spirit of socialist realism, gathering all workers in one place. The communists dreamed of creating a perfect city that would eclipse Krakow, perceived as a bastion of bourgeois traditions and hostility to socialist ideas. A spirit of the communist regime is still mind-blogging.

After the fall of communism, the names of the streets were changed (the former Alley of Włodzimierz Lenin became An Alley of Solidarity), but the spirit of the past is still present in Nowa Huta. During our tour of Nowa Huta sightseeing, you can feel this unique atmosphere. We guarantee that you will experience the entire spectrum of emotions - you will be charmed, shocked, moved and amused. Sounds interesting? This is what you can see in this beautiful country because a rare view of the communist regime stands in dramatic contrast to the surrounding towns. Choose the Nowa Huta sightseeing tour and explore this magnificent town!

I was very pleasantly surprised by a piece of an extremely interesting story. Apart from the fact that the trip itself is interesting, the guide tells it all in such a way that you want more and more :) Additionally, a ride from the center by an air-conditioned bus with a polite driver. I highly recommend it!
