Day 1: Trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Wieliczka Salt Mine

On the first day, you will embark on a tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau, where you'll see with your own eyes a concentration camp that was a witness to some of the most horrific ordeals of World War II. Auschwitz is located around 41 miles from Krakow. After the guided tour of the Auschwitz concentration camp, you'll go to see the salt mines. Wieliczka is known for its underground world made of salt, where you can see salt lakes and chambers. Keep in mind that the temperature is lower than above ground, so you should bring something warm. There will be an English-speaking guide to show you around at both locations. The tour also includes a lunch box with some local products.

Day 2: Krakow City Walk: St Mary's Basilica, Town Hall Tower, Wawel Castle, and the Old Town

Our recommendation for the second day is to discover Krakow's top attractions. Since your hotel is conveniently located right in the Old Town, it will take you just a few steps to get to places like Market Square, Wawel Castle, and the Jewish Quarter.

• Rynek Glowny - the main square in Krakow is one of its most recognizable features as it is the biggest medieval square in Europe (dating back to the 13th century) and is home to some great buildings. St Mary's Basilica from the 14th century is a favorite among tourists and locals alike, so make sure to snap a photo of it. If you're looking to buy some souvenirs, visit the Cloth Hall situated right in the middle of the main square. Rynek Glowny is also a great place to go if you're looking for a restaurant to have a bite to eat.
• Kazimierz - The Jewish district in Krakow is called Kazimierz. It is popular among those looking for atmospheric places with a rich history. This is where the biggest Jewish community used to live until World War II, and it still bears many Jewish influences. Here you can stop by Plac Nowy and visit the Old Synagogue (built in the 15th century), which functions as a museum now. A visit to Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory is also highly recommended. You may have heard about Oskar Schindler before, as his story was the inspiration for Steven Spielberg's movie Schindler's list. If you want to see some of the places where it was filmed, Kazimierz is where you should head. Those who want to learn more about the history of the Jewish community and its culture in Kazimierz can also visit the Galicia Jewish Museum.
• Wawel Hill - As the former capital of Poland, Kraków was home to many kings. They used to live in The Wawel Castle situated on the hill. This is where you should go if you want to see some royal chambers and artefacts. The Wawel Cathedral, also on the hill, is where many of the monarchs and national heroes were buried. This is another must-see while in Krakow, so make sure to visit. A tip: remember to ask about the Wawel dragon and its den!

Day 3: Experience Polish food and culture

Once you've ticked the most important spots in Kraków off of your list, we'd like you to join a unique folk tour. First, we will drive you to the Ethnographic Museum, where you'll have a chance to learn more about Polish folklore and traditions. After that, we invite you to a local restaurant where you'll get to try some tasty traditional Polish food.

Day 4: Enjoy the city your way

The last day of the trip is all for you (unless you have a very early flight back home). After all the intense sightseeing you've done in the previous days, you deserve to walk around the Old Town and explore it on your own. If you're out of ideas, we can recommend strolling along Florianska street, which connects to the market square, and then stop by the baroque Church of St Peter and Paul on Grodzka 54 street. You can also take a break at one of the many restaurants and enjoy some local food or just a cup of coffee. Once your stay in Krakow is over, our driver will collect you from the hotel at the time requested and drive you to the airport. No need for a train or bus!
