Nowa Huta

Here starts our trip. Nowa Huta district is one of two examples of deliberate social engineering. It was created in 1949 for peasants and the working class. The reason for designing such an area were quarrels between the Socialist government and Krakow's middle class. The government decided to establish a perfect industrial city for people from lower social class. Over there, you can see a unique architecture that you won't see anywhere else in the world. Another interesting spot in this district is a central square called Plac Centralny. It is a characteristic place that represents Nowa Huta and highlights its history.

Podgórze

Our next stop is a Podgórze district. During World War II, it was a territory of a Jewish Ghetto. All Jewish citizens were forced to live there between 1941 and 1943. In 1994, the area was announced as one of the Historic Monuments - a cultural heritage of Poland.

In this part of the tour, you will have the opportunity to see Schindler's Factory Museum and look at the historic district. The factory performs the function of a museum where we can see the main exhibition named Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939-1945. The exhibition shows the fate of Krakow and its inhabitants, as well as the Nazi occupiers. You will also get to know more about popular Oskar Schindler and his brave attitude and willingness to save the Jewish people during World War II. In this area, you will also see a small Podgorski Square - a characteristic centre of Podgórze. The last point includes visiting divine St. Joseph’s Church from the 20th century. It is a representative construction built in the Gothic Revival style. The building is the largest church that you can find in the quarter.

Kazimierz district

Kazimierz is a Jewish quarter that includes a part of the Krakow Old Town. It was a zone where the Jewish inhabitants were relocated to the Podgórze area - The Jewish Ghetto. It is situated just across the Vistula River, close to Krakow's centre.

The Jewish district preserved many distinctive structures. A trip to this historical part of Krakow will make you feel like travelling in time. You will see the original architecture picturing 18th and 19th-century local townhouses, synagogues, and churches. The tour also includes visiting the main square Plac Wolnica which was the former Kazimierz town established in the 14th century. Over there, we can spot its first town hall and a lot of typical 19th-century tenement houses. Another interesting site is the main market square Plac Nowy where old-fashioned cafes and stalls are located.

Kazimierz district is a place that should be visited by anyone who decided to get closer to Kraków's history. It is a perfect example of the coexistence of both Polish and Jewish culture. Every tourist who is eager to explore more than usual must pay a visit to this one of a kind region.

The Old Town

During our visit to The Old Town, you will be thrilled to see the most important highlights of the Royal City of Krakow. This point of the tour will let you discover, for example, the 19th-century Juliusz Słowacki Theatre. This astonishing building was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and represented the Eclectic style. It was designed after one of the most incredible theatres, such as the Palais Garnier in Paris.

Next, we will take you closer to Main Square, where you will see medieval Barbican and St. Florian’s Gate. This is the very beginning of the real Kraków's Royal Path. From this moment you'll be able to marvel at the amazing architecture and feel the spirit of one of the best Poland's destinations. The further step includes visiting Matejko Square, where we will show you Grunwald Monument. The statue presents King of Poland Władysław II Jagiełło, and it was raised to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald. It is one of the most important and victorious in Polish history.

Moving even further and getting closer to the next region of Krakow, you can't miss the stunning building of Collegium Novum. This is the oldest university in Poland known as Jagiellonian University. The building represents the Neo-Gothic style, and its beginning dates back to 1887 when it was first opened. This University is ranked as one of the best in whole Poland.

Zwierzyniec

Now it's time to change the style of our trip to more nature-friendly. We want to show you more local places that are not typical tourist attractions. It is important to explore diverse views of the city to find different entertaining sides of it. Moving to the western region of Kraków, we will come across The National Museum in Krakow and nearby Blonia Park. The park covers an area of 48 hectares and is a great place for daily recreation and sport. It is also frequently used as a site for concerts and exhibitions.

Zwierzyniec district is the ultimate point of the tour. This place is popular both among local people and Kraków's tourists. In this area, you will have a chance to admire the beautiful landscape of Krakow from Kosciuszko Mound.
